Children from all over the world

Boys and girls between 6 and 14 years old participated (two age ranges, from 6 to 9 and from 10 to 14 years old). The theme was AJEDREZ, CHILDREN OF THE WORLD (Social Chess), with free techniques and in A3 format.

The numbers of the contest spoke by themselves of the great success and importance of this event: fourteen countries participated, four continents and thousands of drawings were received, only in Uruguay the organizers exceeded the thousand drawings received. The selected works were exhibited at the Gran Hotel Lakua (Vitoria-Gasteiz) in the final phase of the project (December 22).

Each participating country made a preliminary selection of the drawings made by its participants, selecting 8 works for each age range (a total of 16 works) that they sent to the organization for the jury of the contest to review according to the bases of the same.

The works best valued by the jury opted for special prizes, as well as gifts with the theme of the contest for participating children and a raffle (with surprise prizes) among the attendees. So in addition to the two winners of the tournament (one per category), there were two special mentions and four winners.
