Instituto Cedrus, Pachuca de Soto, Hgo.
This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of EXPOCHESS, a festival that, over the past decade, has promoted chess as a bridge between culture, art, education, and sports. Mexico will be the epicenter of this grand celebration, where we will bring together all the activities that have marked these ten years of history, along with new initiatives designed to continue fostering chess and its impact on society.
Among the highlighted activities is the ninth edition of the EXPOCHESS International Drawing Contest, which emphasizes the relationship between chess and respect for the animal world, and will feature the participation of artists from around the world.
The festival will also be graced by illustrious figures such as Leontxo García, chess journalist and promoter; Ernesto Valverde, football coach; Óscar "Conejo" Pérez, Director of Sports in Hidalgo and former Mexican footballer; Manuel Michelone, famous chess promoter and YouTuber; Guillermo Isidrón, specialist in Internal Medicine; Mónica Calzetta, World Champion in the Senior +50 category and Chess Grandmaster; and María Jesús Soto, President of the Mexican society W&P Independent Advisors, among many others.
In addition, there will be exhibitions, lectures, discussions, and more, with chess as a foundation to explore topics related to education, sports, and culture. We will also feature musical bands (rock/pop), traditional "tuna" groups, dance groups, live chess performances, and other artistic expressions, creating a sea of activities that celebrate the transversal nature of chess.
This festival in the State of Hidalgo will be a unique occasion to relive all the events that have been part of EXPOCHESS over the past ten years and enjoy new experiences, all designed to showcase the multifaceted richness of this sport-art-science.
As part of EXPOCHESS, we present a comprehensive program that includes chess competitions, art contests, exhibitions, academic symposia, and cultural performances. Each event is meticulously designed to foster dialogue between the discipline of chess and artistic diversity, thus promoting a rich cultural exchange. We invite enthusiasts of all ages to join this confluence of creativity and strategy.
