EXPOCHESS GUATEMALA

From Guatemala, our collaborators of the Municipality of Guatemala with Rodrigo Galero as the main collaborator, work on a chess teaching project in schools, an idea of Mr. Héctor Flores Garcia, 4th councilor of the municipality of Guatemala.

EXPOCHESS GUATEMALA 2019 was presented on September 5 at the Municipality of Guatemala along with various educational, sports, social and cultural Chess activities. As a great event, the IV International EXPOCHESS Drawing Contest was launched; contest website link.

This project provides facilities for children to receive drawing classes and thus participate in the IV International EXPOCHESS Drawing Contest with a great reception in the country.

It is taught in public schools in zone 11 and 2 of Guatemala City since the end of 2018; The majority of students are of limited economic resources.

Since the beginning of EXPOCHESS in Guatemala, various chess activities have been carried out in schools, cultural and sports; In this last field two chess tournaments have been organized.

EXPOCHESS GUATEMALA 2019 took place in September with pedagogical chess activities, a chess tournament, workshops for the drawing co-course and an exhibition of drawings entitled "Chess under the trees" as main activities. All this took place on the relief map (https://youtu.be/qMBJdW0hqjY).
